Phil has owned the Chrysler from new. But the 5.7 Hemi just wasn’t doing it for him any more.
Phil turned up here and said: “Let’s make it cool”.
A blower was decided on but then the “how do we make it work” started.
Eddie was roped in to come up with a plan, as this had not been done before, whilst still retaining the factory computer that also runs the trans etc.
We relocated the coils under the blower manifold and fitted some cool 426 Hemi rocker covers. A scotch key was added to the crank and a custom drive was built for the blower. Radiators etc were moved forward and the air cleaner and fly by wire throttle body was moved up into the hat. A throttle cable was also added so the butterflies would open and shut to make it look right.
We also fitted headers and fabricated a twin 2.5” exhaust while it was here.
With bigger injectors fitted, we tuned the engine on our dyno.
It was so successful we did not touch it again for over a year.
We have since tuned the transmission and Phil just loves it.
We are currently about to start on building Phil a blown 406 Chev power Vauxhall Victor So he can relive his youth!
