Chrysler 300c

Phil Brodgen

Phil has owned the Chrysler from new. But the 5.7 Hemi just wasn’t doing it for him any more.

Phil turned up here and said: “Let’s make it cool”.

A blower was decided on but then the “how do we make it work” started.

Eddie was roped in to come up with a plan, as this had not been done before, whilst still retaining the factory computer that also runs the trans etc.

We relocated the coils under the blower manifold and fitted some cool 426 Hemi rocker covers. A scotch key was added to the crank and a custom drive was built for the blower. Radiators etc were moved forward and the air cleaner and fly by wire throttle body was moved up into the hat. A throttle cable was also added so the butterflies would open and shut to make it look right.

We also fitted headers and fabricated a twin 2.5” exhaust while it was here.

With bigger injectors fitted, we tuned the engine on our dyno.

It was so successful we did not touch it again for over a year.

We have since tuned the transmission and Phil just loves it.

We are currently about to start on building Phil a blown 406 Chev power Vauxhall Victor So he can relive his youth!

In 2019 I had an idea to put a old time 671 Supercharger onto my fuel injected motor of my Chrysler 300c. I was referred to The Toy Shed by family.
Russell Lowe was only too happy to assist with the project. I took the vehicle over to see if it was going to be viable. After a lot of head scratching and emails backwards and forwards to America we decided to give it a go.

Four months later we had a successful completed project. The Toy Shed communicated the entire time with regular photo updates. The vehicle has been back a couple of times for computer upgrades to suit my driving style. My Chrysler remains the only working one of its kind in NZ.

It has been trouble free and hasn’t let me down at all and that’s a credit to Russell and the team.

They have also helped me out with parts and knowledge on my 23 Ford T-Bucket, V8 super modified drag tractor and most recently completed a turn key 550hp blown small block Vauxhall for me.

Overall, the whole experience working with The Toy Shed has been stress free with heaps of laughs.
