OUR TEAM

Russell Lowe

Owner/Workshop Manager

Russ is a mechanic by trade, and a car guy by nature.

He still still has his first hot rod, a 1938 Ford Coupe which he’s owned for over 25 years and still drag races.

Drag racing is his passion and he’s raced everything from a Flat Head V8 Model A Coupe to a 2500hp 69 Camaro top door slammer. He’s currently having fun in “Strange Magic”, a wheel standing 56 Chevy gasser the Toy Shed team built in 42 days! It runs a 555 big block and Jerico 4 speed.

Johno Huff

Johno’s an auto machinist by trade and works mainly in our engine building department.

Johno owns a mint XB Falcon and has blue blood!!

Kelly Rogers

Kelly is an engineer by trade and does chassis and diff builds, modifications, and general fabrication.

He drives a 66 Chevy pickup with an injected/super charged 350. He also owns a 68 Mopar GTX, 58 Buick Special & 59 Apache.

Zak Smith

Zak is nearing the end of his automotive apprenticeship. He carries out mechanical work, but specializes in electrical. His wiring work is outstanding.

He’s currently rebuilding his VK V8 Commodore.

Heather Kreger

Heather’s our Office Manager and the glue that holds this place together, looking after the office and parts department.

She owns a VY Commodore with a LS1. Every business needs a “Heather”.

Sam Eggleton

Sam has recently joined the team as Heather’s side-kick in the Office/Parts department.

She’s into Vee Dubs and has a 1966 Beetle project on the go at the moment.

Tony

Tony is our new Parts guy. He’s been a car enthusiast for as long as he can remember.

He’s owned and modified over 100 cars. And while he won’t admit it around the workshop, his passion is early Rotaries, and currently has a Mazda 100R, RX2 Sedan, 808 Wagon and an RX7 Track Car. Tony’s been involved in racing Stock Cars and Super Stock, so is the man to talk to if you need parts for your Race Car.

Les Holland

Les has been part of the team for around 5 years and specializes in transmission and diff rebuilds, fabrication, and engine transplants.

He’s been involved in super stocks and is currently building a Holden HZ s/w with LS1/4L60e for himself.

Allan Corcoran

Al is our dyno operator, mechanic, and carb guru. He’s our resident Chrysler nutter and owns an array of Aussie Chryslers. He previously owned Carburetor Motors and a mechanical workshop, plus did a stint as an automotive tutor at the local Polytech.

Sean Lemon

Affectionately known as ‘Santa’, Sean specializes in engine building and fabrication.

He’s a machinist by trade and has been building and racing cars since before most of us were born! Sean gets landed with a lot of the “can’t be done” type jobs we get to keep his brain busy.

He currently drives a 63.5 Galaxy with a 408 Cube Windsor.

Dan Holland

Dan’s also nearing the completion of his automotive apprenticeship and does general mechanical work, diffs and exhaust systems.

Dan’s been racing a Super Stock for a number of years.

Eddie Pinkham

Eddie’s known as ‘The Mad Scientist’. He runs his own electrical business but contracts to us for a lot of our unusual EFI projects.

Glen Eggleton

Glen joined the team in January 22. He’s a qualified auto sparky but has been brought up in a hot rodding family so he has had plenty of experience with all things mechanical.

Glen’s built many cars including his ‘71 blown big block Chevelle featured on the cover of NZV8 which he’s recently sold. Currently he’s building a ‘64 2 door Impala with twin turbo LS and 6 speed manual.

Jay Herrick

Our new panel beater Jay has been in the game for 10 years or so. In that time he’s learnt some excellent metal working skills. Prior to joining the team here Jay was working at a restoration shop that just did VWs.

Fair to say he won’t see too many of those around here. Jays current ride is a custom Triumph.

James Morgan

James is a qualified motor cycle mechanic but has been working on cars all his life.

He currently owns a ‘70 Camaro, ‘02 Monaro and a ‘90 C10 Pick Up.
