1951 CHEV SPORTS COUPE

Greg and Kim Holmes

Greg purchased this car as a project that had come out of the desert in USA. Arriving in New Zealand as a standard car with a roughly fitted 283 v8, old primer paint and hardly any interior, the car didn’t even have windows!

Greg brought the car to The Toy Shed who then fitted a modern Heidts Mustang 2 front end, and a rebuilt 9″ diff – narrowed to suit his wheel choice. The team rebuilt and fitted a shiny 383 Chev and TH350.

Having removed the body to make the chassis modifications, while Greg located new chrome and glass for the car, The Toy Shed carried out the panel work required to straighten the old girl up to his standards before taking it home where he and his brother laid on the awesome PPG Vibrance Cinnamon Candy paint.

The tan leather interior was taken care of by Pete Tyrel with the final assembly undertaken by Greg before returning to The Toy Shed to complete the LVV Certification and VIN process before dyno-tuning and handing the keys back to Greg to enjoy.
